FINDING JOY AGAIN

How do we do that? During a call with my friend on the other side of this planet, I realised how serious we all had become in the past two years.
Serious, tense, and maybe even heavy? When did we stop flirting, daydreaming, being childish, light, and carefree?

News and conversations are easily taken over by events that threaten our security, stability, and peaceful lives. There is so much trouble out there, wars, recessions, death, sicknesses, inequality - in short, a lot of negativity. On NYE in 2019, I remember I was reminiscing about the past few years, which had been amazing with the circle of eclectic people I had built, and the memories and progress we created together. I was convinced that 2020 would be the start of another Golden 20s era.

But it turned out differently. Now what?
It is time to remind ourselves, that there’s is something we call JOY and something we refer to as FUN.
What do we do to be more fun and have more joy in our lives?

In small steps:

  1. It’s all about focus and making the positive things a priority. Let’s not overload our weeks with commitments that don’t serve us and rather add stress than fun.

  2. Spice up a “normal” event on a day. If you’re in the office again, start a silly competition.
At an exhibition during lunch, I had one crazy guy jumping at my feet just to take off my shoe (sweaty and smelly it was) to give it back to me with the words “are you okay?”

  3. Let’s read inspiring books and magazines again, and try to avoid the dramatising news for a bit.
It’s good to be informed but it’s not healthy to consume the same negative news every day, again and again. Nope.

  4. Meet people not only to have deep conversations but to play something together. Table tennis, guys. You won’t beat me!
