AN ANALOGUE STORY

Analogue is cool again

When did you use analogue camera the last time? Never? Probably because you are too young. In my late teens, I grew up with them. I remembered picking up the developed and printed pictures from our local photo print shop after a trip when film was full. Those films had either 24 pictures or 36. I never really knew what to expect from the pictures, there was always this exciting anticipation and surprising part with it. Over two decades later, after a whole digital revolution, I wanted to go back to such an analogue camera. I used a one-way camera, for black-and-white images on our Caribbean trip in 2022. Looking at the photos, I feel a mix of nostalgia because the quality of the images are from a long time ago, and a kind of coolness because I captured some nice moments. I’m happy with the outcome. I will do it again.
